How to reach Sarahan

Reaching Sarahan
By Flight:
The nearest airport to Sarahan is Jubbarhatti, which consists of only a single runway that was built by cutting and levelling a mountain top. The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, however, is well connected to domestic and international locations. Air India operates flights to domestic destinations like Mumbai, Kolkata, and Amritsar among others and international destinations such as Melbourne, San Francisco, New York, and Singapore. The other nearby airport is Bhuntar Airport also known as Kullu Manali Airport. This airport is connected to cities such as Delhi and Chandigarh via Air India Regional and Deccan Charters.
By Road:
Buses prove to be an alternative option to reach Sarahan. The HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) operates buses regularly and frequently from Delhi, Shimla, Chandigarh. You can choose from non-AC, AC and sleeper buses. A journey in a Volvo AC bus from Delhi to Sarahan will cost you around seven hundred rupees while that from Shimla to Sarahan will charge you around two hundred and seventy-five rupees. Jeeps and cabs offer alternative options to reach Sarahan. The meandering roads around the steep mountain slopes are a tough climb and it is advisable to opt for a daytime journey.
By train:
The railway station closest to Sarahan is Kalka, which is located approximately 84 km from Sarahan. This station is well connected to Shimla Railway Station, which in turn has trains plying to and from several Indian cities such as Gumman, Kumarhatti, Sonwara, Barog, Kandaghat, Kathleeghat, Taradevi and Summer Hill.
